Located on the gold coast of Long Island's north shore, the Old Westbury Golf and Country Club was opened for play in 1962 on 190 acres of what was then part of Cornelius Vanderbilt Whitney's estate. Old Westbury's 27 holes all demand exceptional accuracy off the tee, whether to find the fairways on the wooded holes or to obtain the best position for a clear shot at the green on the more open holes. Tennis facilities include 14 meticulously groomed outdoor tennis courts and an indoor court. Other club amenities include a sauna, a formal garden and swimming floors.
