This premier event, named in honor of Emmory Shapses, the eleven-year-old daughter of Marc and Marla Shapses, has raised close to $4 million for the ERS Charitable Foundation and the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance.

Participants in the event are treated to 18 holes of golf at the scenic Old Westbury Golf and Country Club following a delicious breakfast, use of the club’s amenities, topped off with cocktails and a lavish dinner. Golfers are able to compete in contests, raffles, and auctions sponsored by such companies as Cartier, Baume & Mercier, The Carlton on Madison Avenue, Kooba, International Watch Company, Rallye Motors, Peter Luger Restaurant, The Palm, Panerai, Jaeger-LeCoultre and The Plaza Spa. The 10th Anniversary event promises even more prizes than ever before.

Throughout the day’s festivities, one thing is clear – each participant is making a difference in the lives of the more than one million people who suffer from tuberous sclerosis complex. While most people have never heard of TSC, each day two children will be born with this debilitating disorder. Their families live in daily fear of seizures, tumors, organ failure, autism, mental disability and worse. Researchers have made great strides in the fight against TS, but there is still no cure. They depend on the funds raised in this event and others like it to continue the fight against this terrible illness.

The individual volunteers, donors and participants in this event are integral to its success and have the gratitude of the Shapses family, ERS Charitable Foundation and TS Alliance. Special recognition must be paid to the following sponsors who go to extraordinary levels to ensure the event’s success: Aragon Construction, Henick-Lane, Inc., Lane Office Furniture, Inc., Linear Technologies, and Studley.
